UBRA Points System
UBRA POINTS ARE BASED ON A 2D SYSTEM (Accept Pee Wee which has no divisions)
Open Points are based on a 1 second splits
Example: If 15.00 is the fastest time in the class then all times between 15.00 - 15.99 would qualify for 1D Points 16.00 and slower would qualify for 2D Points
Youth Points are based on a 1 second splits
Example: If 15.00 is the fastest time in the class then all times between 15.00 - 15.99 would qualify for 1D Points 16.00 and slower would qualify for 2D Points
Futurity Points are based on a 1 second splits
Example: If 15.00 is the fastest time in the class then all times between 15.00 - 15.99 would qualify for 1D Points 16.00 and slower would qualify for 2D Points
Pee Wee Points are based on fastest times.
Example: The fastest time will get 20 points, 2nd place 19...20th place 1 point. No divisions.
Points are awarded on a 20-1 system.Example: 20 points for 1st in each division, 19 for second in each division, 18 for third all the way down to 1 point for 20th place in each division.
UBRA Tour shows are double point shows (40-2 system)
Example: 40 points for 1st in each division, 38 points for second in each division, 36 points for third all the way down to 2 points for 20th place in each division.
Points are calculated per rider, per division. Points will be taken on the horse earning the most points
(only 1 set of points per horse per class and only 1 set of points per person per division per class)
Example: You can win points in both divisions in the same class, on two different horses. You can not, however, win points on two horses, in the same division, for the same class.
No trailer race. 40 Run Limit
Maximum number of runs to count for year end awards is 40. In the event you earn more than 40 sets of points per division the 40 runs that have earned you the highest amount of points will be used. Any combination of UBRA Produced double points shows and sanctioned open shows that total 40 runs.
Example: If you choose to attend only two (2) tour stops, and run in each of the two opens at each, you would have the possibility of earning twelve (12) double point runs (2 tour stops X 6 runs available at each = 12 runs). To this you would add up to a maximum of 28 additional open show runs to equal 40 total runs.
Anyone can go online and view points. Every member is encouraged to audit their points and standings. Itemized standings per rider are posted to help with this task.
Tie Breakers : In the event of a tie the value of shopping spree dollars is added together and divided by the # of people tying. ie: If there is a three way for 3rd, you take the 3rd, 4th and 5th place Shopping Spree Dollars add them together and divide them by 3. The same policy applies to payouts if a person ties for placing in a jackpot that is PRODUCED by UBRA.
Standings are updated and posted online the 1st of every month. They are also published in the HORSE DIGEST magazine. Your individual results, series and year end points, determine your rank in the standings. UBRA Shopping Spree Dollars are awarded for Series, World & State Year End Champions as well as at the UBRA Tours. SS$=Shopping Spree Dollars. SS$ do not equal cash. Any unused SS$ will be voided if not used or reserved by the World Finale.
